TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

All bookkeeping and BAS related work will be performed by Better Balance Bookkeeping Services, their staff or contractors where necessary and will be billed at our fixed hourly rate of $60 per hour.

We reserve the right to make annual rate increases and to give the client prior notice of such increases

All invoices must be paid within 7 days of the date of the invoice

We reserve the right to cease work if you fail to make any payment to us as and when it falls due. We reserve the right to retain any data file backup as ransom for unpaid accounts.

In the event of a dispute which may delay payment of our invoice, this dispute must be brought to our attention in writing within 7 days of the date of the invoice.

If written notification has not been received within the 7 day period regarding any relevant dispute to delay payment of our invoice, we reserve the right to charge you penalty interest on any outstanding amounts due, at a daily rate of 2.5%.

14 days written notice to end the working relationship is required from the client as a courtesy.

If 14 days notice is not received we reserve the right to bill the client at our usual hourly rate for loss of earnings due to previously scheduled appointments on their behalf.

Should an appointment be forgotten or cancelled by the client with less than 12 hours notice, or without due warning and consideration, we reserve the right to charge a minimum of 4 hours to cover our loss of earnings and travel time.

If an appointment has been attended by ourselves, but the work cannot be performed due to client disorganisation, we reserve the right to charge a minimum of 4 hours (or the total scheduled appointment) to cover loss of earnings for that appointment.

You (The Client) are responsible for providing correct compliant documentation to support all BAS lodged on your behalf.

The Client shall not deliberately request us to perform any act of fraudulence or non compliance, or to act against our good integrity on your behalf or to benefit the client.

Should we be requested by the client to act in any way fraudulently or against our good integrity, we reserve the right to terminate our working relationship immediately and without prior notice.

If the work is performed on the clients own desktop and software, a back up will be kept by ourselves, offsite, for protection against fire, and remains the property of the license holder throughout.

It is the Clients responsibility to allow sufficient time for the work to be performed in preparation of the BAS

Any fines associated with the late lodgement of the BAS or PAYG return, which are related to insufficient time frames will be entirely the responsibility of the Client.

The Client is responsible for providing all relevant information to us which has a tax implication in the BAS, within the relevant quarter and within a timely fashion.

Any BAS adjustments due to failure to provide the relevant information will be charged out to the client at our usual hourly rate.

It is the Clients responsibility to peruse the GST and PAYG reports and BAS presented to them for lodgement.

We reserve the right to perform research, seek advise and investigate any queries the Client may raise, in order to provide satisfactory explanations and answers to the client.

All such research may be performed on the Clients time and billable to the Client. Tools of research may include (but not be limited to) the following:

  • Telephone calls to Accountants, searching the ATO and other relevant web sites, telephone calls to the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers and other networks. Relative reading of appropriate manuals and transcripts.

Where the Client has taken advantage of the FREE use of our licensed MYOB software, the license and data file remains the property of Better Balance Bookkeeping Services.

The FREE use of this software and data file only applies whilst the bookkeeping services are being performed by our business.

Should the Client wish to have the bookkeeping performed by another business, person or entity, then a fee will be charged to have the serial number removed by MYOB from the data file at their current rate. An administration fee of $150 will be billed for administration costs relating to the serial number removal. By engaging our services, it is deemed that you understand and have agreed to the above terms and conditions.
